joywriting

Lazy sunday morning. Changing the name of my blog from Writer's Notebook to joywriting...more in the spirit of what I love to do, catch images in my journal using words and scotch magic tape. Here's a photo taken in Chico creek last year....a January glimpse of my world--the shot for the jacket of Foolsgold (zoomed in and painted a bit)

Just jotted down a quote in the car, "I want my poems to be wiser than I am, to know more about themselves than I do." John Hollander (quoted by Garrison Keillor in Writer's Almanac). I'm shifting this for myself to "I want my chapters..."
Now Monday Nov. 3 Because! I'm more likely to write chapters than poems. And until OBAMA is president! I can barely write anything.
Woke up in the night with the words "HOW CAN I HELP" rushing through my head, a new tack for me, and these words calmed me, a new tack away from myself, even if this blog is about my world...
Love to you all, and soon I'll know how to get this blog "out there" xoxoxo

Today at Teaz Me

Excited about creating my blog here today with my friend Adrienne at Teaz Me cafe. Hello out there!! We had a refreshing rain last night in Chico and still the squirrel came to drink at my fountain out front. And now, Adrienne tells me I can do anything, at my "whim." Whimsy! Anything, hooray! I love this.

I've decided to label this post "firsts" to encourage myself to head out on a quest for "firsts." First time in Brazil, Colombia, Panama. (Coming soon,) First time blog. (Here, now!) First organized briefcase. First happily organized car fragrant with artemesia. (Pompoko Pearl the 2nd.) First fresh wild verbena tea. First personal trampoline. (Again, coming soon.) Here's a photo of me (on the left) with my friend (since we were three) Muffie Meyer this past April, first time together on the subway in NY City. (Look for her company Middlemarch Films).
Looking forward to another first, really understanding how to do this blog business.
What a joy.
More soon.
Love,
Susan
